The Emergency Response Process has three basic stages:
Notification stage
- from the accident to alerting the Emergency Organization.
You will need a reliable alerting/callout system that musters your ER staff as quickly as possible. The system should also be able to keep track of your decisions, actions, and contacts.
Activation stage
- when the Emergency Response Organization is in action.
Who does what? What is the line of command? Somebody has to take care of business continuity while the Emergency Organization is operating, so it\’s important to select the ER team with great care.
Post-Emergency stage
- the follow up work after an emergency/accident:
Rebuilding the customer\’s confidence in your company by proper and generous care of survivors and their Next-of-Kin. Also, ensure proper handling of claims and long term support.
